What’s up, car?
My car’s going nutty, and since my lawyers have advised me to wait on getting it fixed, I’m left to drive around in a mobile freak show. 3 things that have been going wrong:
- The rear window wiper goes on randomly, but is somehow linked to my brakes. Occasionally, the wiper will stop mid-swoop if I’m braking gently.
- The driver’s side window sometimes goes up and down a bit when I’m rolling it up. (Do people still say “rolling up the window,” even when talking about power windows?)
- Just today, the dashboard lights have been going off and on… when they were switched off. This is also linked to the brakes, as they were blinking off and on like a disco when I was going down the ramps in the parking garage.
Make it stop!

Sounds like a poltergeist to me. Have you tried consulting with Ghostbusters yet?
Seriously though, that really sucks and hopefully everything will be resolved soon. Especially as it’s perfectly possible that all those little signs are leading up to some, much bigger failure.

I’d rather have my windshield wipers go on when I brake rather than the other way around. Very strange situation, nonetheless…

Your lawyer gives car advice? Now THAT is value-added service.

I think it’s all just par for the course with used Volkswagens. This one’s had quite a few electrical problems. (Sadly not the biggest problems it’s had).
Oh, and for what lawyers charge, they ought to be doing free car repairs, too! (They’re only giving advice on this since they’re handling my case against the car dealer.)

At least your windows are Very Clean!
When I was a kid, my parents owned a Volkswagon Rabbit which was A Total Lemon. It would just Stop in the middle of driving and not start again. And then my parents would have A Big Fight. To this day, I stress out over my car not working properly. Good luck with yours!
