62. Detail of Art

  1. When you find that the battery in your stud finder has been relocated to keep the smoke detector from beeping, try to find studs by rapping on the wall with your knuckles and listening to hear a tone change.
  2. Give up and just put the damn picture hanger wherever you choose.
  3. Use your level to make sure it’s, well, level.
  4. Realize that you’ve hung the picture waaayyy too high on the wall, which looks funny. Plus, you can’t hang it lower now, or there will be a hole in the wall directly above your picture.
  5. Decide to buy more art to arrange around it, so you have a “collage” instead of an unusually high piece of art.

62. Art on wall

#62 is done - for now - I hung my Hurricane Katrina photo by Clayton Cubitt. I also made sure to put some art on my already cluttered desk, in addition to a bulletin board for my design inspiration clippings and tear sheets (coming soon):

I’ve always wanted to get a bulletin board! I should do that… Your walls look great, although a little bare still. :) My walls are completely pale… in comparison, though.

Could you please help me, I don’t have any money and need ideas on how to hang my pictures with the frames that I have, how to arrange so they look good.
